Their site died twice. Here’s what we rebuilt, and how.

The situation

Wildfire Ministries Kenya is a Christ-centred ministry serving the Pokot people of West Pokot County, Kenya, directed by Joram Kingori. It is a ministry of YWAM Athi River.

Their website had existed twice, and died twice: first built on Joomla, then rebuilt on WordPress — both eventually lapsed, unmaintained, until nothing remained but a blank server default page. Whatever the ministry had written about its own work, over years, was gone from the live web.

What we found

The content wasn’t gone everywhere — it was archived. Using the Wayback Machine, we recovered 95 pages of the ministry’s own writing: their account of who they are, who they serve, and what the work looks like, in their own words rather than ours.

Separately, we curated 38 photographs from the ministry’s 2025 album — real photographs of the actual work, not stock imagery standing in for it.

What we did

• Recovered the 95 archived pages and cleaned them up for the web.
• Curated and properly processed the 38 photographs.
• Rebuilt the site from that material, on a domain the ministry owns outright.

What it is now

The rebuilt site is live at wildfirekenya.org. No traffic figures or donation numbers to report yet — what got rebuilt is a ministry’s own record of its own work, recovered and given a durable home again.
